CLARITY: How to Allow Clarity of Thought

CLARITY: How to Allow Clarity of Thought

Be clear in your intentions. Know what you are not aiming for. Allow clarity of thought. Everything doesnʻt have to be sorted out at once. Take it one step at a time. Then, stop and look up. Relax, reflect, look into the distance without pressure – it gives you a much clearer picture than looking down in one spot.

The pieces of your puzzle will fall into place when you you take it one small step at a time, rather than trying to take all the steps. Trying clutters Thought – and shuts out flow…

If you think back over your life in periods of say 5 years or maybe 10, you’ll see the many experiences, situations and journeys you’ve found your way through.

You’ll see that at the time those things may have seemed confusing, insurmountable, painful even. But you found your way through to where you are Now.

You found your way through those twists and turns of “not knowing”. And now you have a valuable life tool – hindsight. HINDSIGHT is a gift. We can use it to help us move forward differently, to empower ourselves to make good decisions.

Hindsight allows us to access Clarity of Thought if we use it as a learning resource to reflect upon what we have moved from, and to help plot our course forward.

We often fall into the mistake of “thinking” we have to have it all mapped out clearly – yet that’s not what Clarity is. Clarity has elements of Creativity. Creativity is the creator of Movement. Creativity is fluidity. It creates Flow.

Flow by definition is movement. When water doesn’t flow, it becomes stagnant and doesn’t support the life of the ecosystem it’s part of.

Stuckness, funnily enough, is also part of the creative process. Creativity isn’t always pleasant, that’s another common mistake. When we feel stuck, we KNOW. We Know we can’t stay where we are because it’s not serving us. Stuckness is the signpost that says MOVE.

The KNOWING that we must Move is both inspiring and fearful. What we do next depends on our level of FEAR and our RELATIONSHIP with it.

If something is of high value or high importance, then often the level of Fear increases. That’s because there’s risk involved. RISK is the flip-side of SAFETY – and we’re hardwired for Safety. In the main, most people want Safety because Safety brings a sense of SURENESS. And we link Sureness with KNOWING. And if we know, then then everything’s going to work out…

Maybe, maybe not.

Let’s look at this. We’re wanting Clarity. Clarity seems somewhere in the distance. It doesn’t seem right Now. What does seem “right Now” is: Stuckness, Fear, Relationship, Risk, Safety, Sureness, Knowing, Movement.

If you look at each of these 8 words you’ll notice it’s a journey from one state to another. Each state influences another. Notice it’s a Process. Process is about movement. As you look at each word, which one seems to be the pivotal point? That is, which one helps you to make the change from Stuckness to Movement?

Relationship. It’s your Relationship with Yourself that tells you where you are in the Process. Your relationship with Yourself determines your relationship with each state in the Process. If your Relationship with YOU is not CLEAR, then your relationship with CLARITY will be clouded by lack of TRUST in your ability to Know.

In our Lineage Teachings, to KNOW is an older way of referring to INTUITION. Intuition is feeling based. It comes from deep within your NA’AU/your feeling centre. You cannot fully access your Na’au if you don’t have a relationship of TRUST with yourself.

That’s where the work is. Work on Trusting yourself to Know, and trusting yourself to Know that there aren’t “wrong” decisions. Just decisions. And if the one you make doesn’t take you closer to where you want to go, make another one. Itʻs a Process.

In the Process, you’ll learn something more about you. That no decision is the final destination. It isn’t the end point. It is a step in the process of Creativity. The Process of Creativity becomes the adventure.

The adventure of getting to know yourself better. Forming a solid relationship and belief in yourself and your ability to know.

Our Spiritual Teachings are all about you. They’ve stood the test of time because every generation lives by them. They are woven within our Healing Methods like Lomilomi Massage and Ho’oponopono. Everything that the Kūpuna/Elders preserved is about helping you find your way up the Mountain of Life.

Movement is Life.

That’s why Hindsight can be a gift. It confirms you can find your way – youʻve already done it over and over. It also shows what needs to be done so you can find Yourself as well…

LIGHT: itʻs time to Lighten UP

LIGHT: itʻs time to Lighten UP

You are love and light in action. Itʻs easy to forget that sometimes. Fear is heavy. Love is light. Fear creates the illusion of darkness which seems very real at the time. When we train ourselves to recognise Fear, we also train ourselves to turn on our Light.

When we learn how to do this, we can also show others. Our light shines so theirs can.

Light isnʻt the domain of Healers and Practitioners – we can all be Light for each other. Often we tend to think of “light” as one light that shines within us. Light is made up of strands. It isnʻt one light that shines, but strands of many Lights.

When you work on your Light to make it clear and pure in every relationship and situation, it vibrates at a level that attracts another strand of Light to it. Light is vibration of pure energy. Pure energy is unencumbered by pōhaku/stones or what we might call our baggage.

Baggage comes from our Past and doesnʻt belong in our Future. Our Teaching: the Past + the Present = The Future confirms it for us. This Teaching means we must take on the challenge of doing our inner work, really committing to it, and being prepared for unlikely revelations that might take us by surprise, rattle us and threat to destabilise our lives (and our progress).

Taking on the challenge means putting yourself under the microscope and examining every aspect of your life. Every segment. Every Relationship. It means getting clear on what you say you stand for. It is about integrity, Truth.

All of us need to relearn how to be Truthful at this level – thatʻs the power of pōhaku and the influence of the Kolohe and Kepalo. To be Truthful at every level in every moment 24/7. If that is Truthful – are you Truthful?

Hana/the work is continuous. No-one is exempt from it. It is work that is done round the clock every day of our lives. To be Truthful is an aspiration of Physical Life. Every moment we encounter both the potential for Truth and the potential for Untruth…half-truthful, sort of Truthful, sometimes Truthful, mostly Truthful is all Untruth!

☝🏽 Think about it right now: are you Truthful in every moment, including this one right now, in every second that passes?

That seems like a giant mountain, impassable and impossible. Yet Spirit and Spiritual Living is all about what is possible. Possible is the domain of potential. Potential is the domain of Light. Light is a vibration of Energy. Because it is vibrational, it must be at the level of Pure Light.

This Energy has a name. We call it Aloha. The Energy of Unconditonal Love. It is the driving force of the Universe. It carries the strands of Light of those who have made it up the Mountain. As well as those who are making their way up there.

Every step we take up the Mountain is one more step into what is possible for us. Imagine if my Light attracted your Light. We stood side by side. Imagine how much Light Energy we would be shining. Then imagine another Light joins us. Now we have 3 strands of Light Energy. Imagine a 4th, 5th, 6th person saw our collective Light shining and comes to stand with us.

We would all be many strands of Light standing together. Making our way up the Mountain. Helping each other. Raising each other up. Making sure no-one gets left behind. Perservering when the going gets tough, helping each other to find our way through it all. Helping each other to find the joy and radiance so we donʻt take it so seriously that it becomes a weight, a Pohaku/a baggage.

Our Kūpuna know this journey. Theyʻre making it too. The Ancestors have all made it. We are all their collective Aloha. We know that because we are here…We all carry their Light of Aloha. Thatʻs why Light isnʻt just one light but the Light of Many.

The Ancestors understood this. They are the Light too. And, thatʻs why we have Teachings, Stories, Chants, Dances, Arts, Crafts, Healing Modalities, Language, Ceremony, Protocols and show respect for the Kūpuna, to help us learn and find our way.

These ARE the containers of Light.

Which is why we have preserved them in our Lineage – so you can learn them too. And shine…

So how to do it?

It can start with doing your Healing and getting into those dark corners and places you donʻt want to go:

► Lomilomi – is a spiritual healing method that feels like physical massage, or bodywork, but it is working at a whole other level. It addresses the physical – stress, tiredness, overwhelm, injury and so on – at the same time as it working at the level of Spirit, the Ancestors, our Spiritual Guardians. This is often the entry point for those for whom Hawaiian Healing Modalities feels helpful.

Hoʻoponopono goes in deep and like an arrow hits itʻs target. It is about breaking through the layers of stories and the entanglements that go with it. Weʻre looking for the pohaku, the stone, the baggage, the things that are weighing you down. Weʻre stalking it, peeling back the layers of the years and the experiences until we find it. Itʻs deep, itʻs powerful, and you will walk a new path after it. Youo can book with Kumu Nālani, Deborah Rose Hālani for online sessions as well as in-situ or ask us for details of a trained Luna Hoʻoponopono near you.

Lāʻau lapaʻau/herbal medicine, Kilokilo/astrology, Spiritual Hands-on Healing modalities, Meditation – thereʻs lot of ways to heal. Hawaiian Healing is a System of Healing but itʻs not the only one. The Teachings say Prayer is the medicine and you experience it through energetic healing forms.

Healing Conversation with the Wise Guides – an exploration of whatʻs happening in your life, discussing it, teasing it all out, coming up with ways to navigate through it, getting your next step.

You can also join a course through the Hālau and the SoHAD School. The Hālau Foundation Course that introduces the Teachings of our Lineage is the Path to Paʻa. Itʻs the first stage for all our Practitioner Level Courses too.

Or, you might like to be in a more informal learning space – the Hawaiian Studies Club meets twice/ month. Low cost, informal, like-minds, structured yet organic.

As well, you can explore your Spiritual Intelligence – these are self-paced options to take it all at your own pace. The foundation of these courses is our Hawaiian Teachings, so you get to learn a little about them too.

The SoHAD has courses in Indigenous Welsh Spirituality – thatʻs the Teachings of the Welsh Druids. And from time to time we have pop-up classes and talks in things like Sensory Awareness, Focussing, Meditation.

👉🏽 Joining the Community mailing list is the place to be to know when these are on. And, you can always contact Kumu Nālani directly. As the 51st Generation Teacher and Healer she is here to help you…

R-E-S-P-E-C-T: Find out Who You Can Be

R-E-S-P-E-C-T: Find out Who You Can Be

When a  sense of reverence surrounds your being it creates movement with every thought and action. You allow your inner self to quietly shine.

When you honour and respect yourself from deep within, you also honour and respect the needs of others. It allows whatever needs to be worked through and achieved to be done with dignity and respect.

This is the time of Lono i ka Makahiki – or Makahiki Season. It is a period often called Hawaiian New Year. Lono is one of the 4 major Akua/Gods & Goddess. He is associated with Agriculture, Rain, Fertility, Peace and Goodwill.

Makahiki Season can be a time for making peace within and with those around you. Who do you need to make peace with? Who are you avoiding? Are you making promises to “catch up” but donʻt do it? What hurt are you carrying toward a person? And why is this hurt impacting you so much?  What piece of you is so wounded that you canʻt talk about it to the person concerned, make peace?

When you bottle things up and internalise hurt, the wounding magnifies. If it continues over time, it may seem insurmountable, that it canʻt be made right. Thoughts turn to just letting it slide in the hope it will somehow get better.

Digging in deep is required. Digging into your own hurt, to find the source of your wounding is needed.

Thereʻs something unresolved within you. Something youʻre afraid of that prevents you from making things right.

Often itʻs how the other person, or people, will receive us as we speak the truth of our experience of them or the situation that caused such hurt. Thatʻs a wound from way back that also needs your attention.

Making things right involves risk. You risk whatever relationship it is you have. But thereʻs a greater risk and thatʻs the risk of damaging the relationship you have with yourself. You might already feel that your relationship with yourself is non-existent at worst, fragile or a work in progress at best, and your foundation isnʻt strong enough to risk rejection – from yourself or others.

It is when you are on the edge of risk that the greatest growth can occur and you take another step toward the person you aspire to be. Risk in this context is your growing edge. By rolling the dice and risking it all, you grow.

It does require you to reach in deep, into the depths of your Being to find the courage to make things right. It will require you to put all your learning about yourself into action. It is a test of what and who you say you are in the world. You will be required to show how you are living your beliefs.

It is a test of Truth.

Itʻs this that can create a state of inner conflict – I want to live my beliefs, to be the person I say I am in the world, I really do and yet…thereʻs an edge to all this. I get it. Itʻs hard. Living a  spiritual life in these times where the basic spiritual foundations are not known, valued or respected is hard.

It is even harder to live them when youʻre the one doing the compromising of value and respect…when you do not take steps to set things right, it’s on you!

Making things right is what sets you free. Thatʻs the payoff. The risk is you might also lose something or someone. Thatʻs the decision only you can make. It is a question of happiness and unconditional love. It is a question of putting yourself at the head of the line. It is a question of spiritual resilience to deal with any fall out. It is a question of Spirit first and your relationship with Spirit above all others.

It is a question that life is not necessarily absolutes. Absolutes is to limit thinking and creativity. To consider that an outcome is either one or the other creates another level of imprisonment. Imprisonment of Spirit. Of your Spiritual Essence. Of all that you are.

Your Spiritual Essence, your ʻuhane, needs to be your Guide in this not the Mind.

Absolutes is the domain of the mind. The mind is the playground of the Kolohe and Kepalo – lower order destabilising entities who never work in your best interests. Indecision cracks the door open for them to enter. Continuing to delay action opens it further. Getting tangled inside inner conflict pushes the door open a bit more…

The way to close it forever is to do the hana/your inner work to strengthen your spiritual foundation so that there is no room or possibility for separation from ʻuhaneʻs guidance. You have been given this great gift, this great asset to help you in the physical world. To not learn to use it, live from it, be it – thatʻs disrepect.

Respecting who you are, all your potentials, the spiritual freedom that is avaiable to you starts with finding resolution to relational issues. You show yourself disrespect when you engage in avoidance, which is a signpost to your fear.

You show respect for the Beingness of the other person or people when you step up to the plate to speak the Truth of your experience – which might not necessarily be THE TRUTH but it IS the truth from your side.

When you hold on to pōhaku/stones, the things that weigh you down, it becomes emotional baggage which weighs you down even more. You create your own pōhaku, not the other person or persons, who may be unaware of the impact of the incident on you.

You may feel youʻve been disrespected – but the Truth is, youʻre the one doing the disrespecting by not addressing the issue with yourself and the other/s involved.

Decision is your great power. Use it to free yourself. Makahiki is the time to do it…

►Don’t know if you can get there? Hmmm, we can help you with that. Traditional Hoʻoponopono can take you deep inside to the place where your orginal wounding lies. Together we work through the layers of relationship one at a time. The key to Future is in opening doors in your Past. Make a time Kumu Julia, Wise Guide Deborah or one of our trained Luna Hoʻoponopono. Use the Contact Form to find out whoʻs near you or book directly online with Kumu or Wise Guide Deborah.

► Maybe it’s a Healing Conversation that we need to have: here it’s less formal and we still sink in deep. We’ll chat about where you are, what’s happened, where you want to go and what’s blocking the way. You’ll work away with some handy how-to’s to get you started. Kumu Julia Nālani and any of the Wise Guides can help you out.

► Another way is to join a Course and build that Foundation with the help of our Traditional Teachings. The Path to Paʻa is where you want to be. OR, you can join the Hawaiian Studies Club- itʻs a monthly membership, $40/month, and we meet twice a month online. Each meetup is specific, fun, useful, insightful and recorded. Recordings are accessible for 12 weeks and then they go into the Library. Thereʻs also other handy tools and resources for Club Members as well as Course & Session Discounts. So check that out too…not sure, letʻs talk it through. Contact me…Aloha, Kumu Paʻa Julia Nālani x

☝🏽 PS One important thing when we talk about Risk – it doesnʻt mean you place yourself in unsafe situations with unsafe people. For example, in Narcisstic Relationships, Domestic Violence or with people who know are mentally unstable. You still do the inner work but you donʻt place yourself at risk. Not sure? Ask Kumu.
